Run Flat vs "Standard", probably a repeat
« on: July 19, 2016, 06:03:39 PM »

Hi - time to replace tires on our 2003 Cooper S, and we are considering changing to 'standard' tires. Any input from the group is appreciated.

Best choice I made was to get rid of "run flats"..

Come see me at Motoring Magic, we do tires in house.  You can drive my shop car to see how the Hankooks on it feel, I have them on all my MINIs, relatively inexepensive, good wear, great ride and quiet!

Scott, did you have them on your MINI last year at Devil's Backbone?  I liked the ride when I was driving it.  Emma's MINI needs new tires so we're looking.

Get read of the run flat. in lest you drive under 20MPH. You can get a better tire for lest money that last longer, ride better, handles better. I just noted that Scott sent you a post. there not a better place to go.

Now that we have put standard tires on the car, I would like to find a compact spare for it. All help in locating one is appreciated.  ALSO, we have two, Pirelli run flat's with 3/16" tread, to sell. $210 for the pair. I will list them in the 4 sale section.

Thank you all for the input.

Thanks Scott!  We'll look at Hankooks for her car.

Thanks again Scott for the suggestion!  We just had 4 Hankooks put on her car this morning.  It runs smooth and feels great on the turns.
